Research and evidence snapshot

Health headlines often skip the details that matter. Three questions help you weigh a claim.

Who was studied, and how?

Randomized trials can test whether something causes an effect. Cohort studies observe people over time and can only show associations. Cell and animal studies are early-stage evidence.

What are the limits?

Small samples, short follow-up, self-reported data, and a single study group all reduce confidence. Findings gain weight when independent teams replicate them.

Association or causation?

People who do one healthy thing often do others, which can blur results. Two things moving together does not prove that one causes the other.
